 OUR PEOPLE

 
  • Dr Deidre Anderson AM is an outstanding social scientist, and leader, who has worked with a variety of organisations and individuals. She has held executive positions both at international and national level within elite sport and the private sector.

    Deidre has been acknowledged worldwide for her contribution to elite athletes, she was recently awarded an Order of Australia (AM) in the 2022 Queens Birthday Honor’s list for her contribution to both Tertiary Education and Sport, is a recipient of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow for her international service, a recipient of the Princeton International Business Leaders Award, recipient of the Eunice Gill Coach Education Award, an honorary member of the Golden Keys International Honor Society and a Justice of the Peace , Subject Matter Expert for FIFA Female Health Project and Chair of the Australian Rugby League Players Association.

  • Glenn has worked in professional sport for over three decades, in club management and national player/ coach development roles, in all football codes.

    Glenn specialises in designing Learning, Development & Wellbeing strategies that support high performance environments for athletes and coaches, within sporting organisations, corporations and learning institutes.

    Glenn has created and managed programs that support the professional development and wellbeing of elite athletes, within the University sector, Australian Rugby (State Unions/ Wallabies), Football Australia (A-League Men and Matilda’s) and was the co-founder and CEO of Football Coaches Australia. Currently Glenn is Chair of the Macquarie University Centre of Elite Performance, Expertise and Training Advisory Panel, Subject Matter Expert for FIFA Female Health Project and a Member of the Global Institute of Sport Advisory Panel.

  • Sophia Nimphius, PhD, GAICD, is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport) and Professor of Human Performance at Edith Cowan University. Her past industry roles include Sports Science Manager for then named Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre, High Performance Women’s Sport Science Coordinator for Softball Australia, and High Performance Manager for Softball Western Australia.

    She brings to the table over two decades of experience working, influencing, and leading in sport. Sophia is an accredited High Performance Manager & Sports Scientist (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) and Strength and Conditioning Coach (Australian Strength and Conditioning Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association).

    Sophia is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). In 2016, she became the first woman to be elected to the Board of Directors of the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. Her leadership, governance, and advocacy experience also include contributions to various committees with sport and non-sport bodies.

  • Dr Damien Taylor specialises in senior leaders/leadership research, senior leader organisational work practices and women's senior leadership.

    He has over two decades of experience in corporate general management leading global projects in countries such as Singapore, South Korea, USA, UK, India, UAE, Europe, Africa, and China. He is a senior executive advisor and Board Member.

    Damien has been involved in high-performance sports as an athlete, coach, consultant and researcher for over three decades. He has won a World Championship in the USA and an Australian/Oceania Championship.

    Damien's broad leadership experience in global corporate business, high-performance sports, and research is the backbone of his current leadership research.
